As we enter March, we are sitting open-handed and so expectant for what God will do during IF:2021. We know our world has been covered in deep darkness, but we get to gather together and remind one another that we were created to be the light in this darkness.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-16
It can feel far too easy to let the darkness overwhelm us when newsreels continue to show devastation and heartbreak, or when our personal lives feel like they are falling apart. John reminds us, however, that the light shines in the darkness and the darkness HAS NOT overcome it (John 1:5). Are you letting the darkness overwhelm you, or are you letting the light of Jesus shine brightly in and through you?
On March 5th & 6th, we are going to talk about how to be the light to a hurting world, and we want you to join us! Whether you can join us live, or you want to watch at a later date, gather your IF:Table, and challenge each other to ask God where you can be the light as you move forward through the rest of 2021.
